Effect of spraying with IAA solutions on the chemical composition of leaves and shoots of the apple cultivar Spartan under different fertilization levels

In 3-year container trials in Lublin, Poland with young trees on M.4 rootstock, N, P2O5 and K2O were applied at rates equivalent to 120:60:150 or 240:120:300 kg/ha. IAA at 100 or 200 mg/litre was applied on 3 dates in each year (between late Aug. and early Sep.). Treatment with IAA increased leaf and shoot contents of N, P and K, and the content of Mg in the leaves but decreased Mg in the shoots.
