Effect of tire combinations on 4WD tractive efficiency

Paper, American Society of Agricultural Engineers (86-1541): 15

Effect of tire combinations on 4WD tractive efficiency

The effect of dual tyres on the rear, front or both axles on tractive efficiency was explored for a 4WD tractor operated on tilled soil. The influence of liquid ballasting by 90% filling the inner tyres with calcium chloride solution was also examined.
