Effect of tool inclination-angle on cutting force and frictional coefficient in the oblique cutting of wood perpendicular to the grain

Effect of tool inclination-angle on cutting force and frictional coefficient in the oblique cutting of wood perpendicular to the grain

Journal of the Japan Wood Research Society 30(12): 980-987

In continuing work, lateral, main and thrust components of the cutting force acting on the tool were measured by a dynamometer and conditions of the cutting surfaces of the workpiece were observed and estimated. Using the measured components, their resultants and the frictional coefficient on the tool rake-face were calculated.
