Effect of triacontanol on fruit quality of Santa Rosa plum

Triacontanol was applied at 0-16 p.p.m. 10 days before the expected date of fruit maturation, but the fruits were harvested within 6 days as maturation was hastened. Data on physical and chemical effects on the fruit are tabulated. Fruit TSS content was highest after the 16 p.p.m. treatment, and total sugar and reducing sugar contents after the 2 p.p.m. treatment. Effects on firmness, titratable acidity, and ascorbic acid and anthocyanin contents were not significant.
