Effect of various rates of mineral fertilizer applied after farmyard manure or slurry on yield and chemical composition of spring barley

In a field trial on sandy soil, 0-30 t FYM/ha, or slurry supplying corresponding amounts of N, P and K, was applied in 1980 and 1981 and spring barley Polan grown in the following year was given 0, 160 or 320 kg 1:1:1.2 NPK fertilizer/ha. Av. grain yields at the 3 NPK rates were 2.17, 2.75 and 2.82 t/ha in 1981 and 2.29, 3.67 and 4.26 t in 1982. There were significant residual effects of 15-30 t FYM/ha in both years, but none from slurry application.
