Effect of vitamin E deficiency on activity of creatine phosphokinase and content of creatine phosphate in heart muscle

Vitamin E-deficient diets were given to rats. Concentration of the adenine nucleotides was unchanged but reduced energy metabolism of myocardium resulted in a decrease of creatine phosphate content and a 20 to 35% decrease in creatine phosphokinase.
