Effect of waterlogging on growth, yield and nutrient concentration of blackgram and greengram under subtropical condition of Varanasi

In pot experiments, growth and seed yields of blackgram and greengram were adversely affected by waterlogging for 24-72 h; the seedling stage was more susceptible to waterlogging than the flower initiation stage. Waterlogging markedly decreased the chlorophyll content of leaves, leghaemoglobin content of nodules, and N, P and K contents of plants.
