Effect of whole cottonseed on the metabolic profile of lactating dairy cows

Atti della Societa Italiana delle Scienze Veterinarie 39(2): 369-371

Effect of whole cottonseed on the metabolic profile of lactating dairy cows

For 56 days 2 groups of 18 lactating Italian Friesian cows were given diets without or with 2 kg whole cottonseed replacing 2 kg concentrates. Haematochemical indices were not significantly different between groups except for total proteins, 7.79 and 7.53 g/100 g, respectively.
