Effects of chemical agents on protoplast fusion

Comptes Rendus de l' Academie Bulgare des Sciences 39(3): 125-128

The effects of ortho, meta and para forms of phenylthioureidobenzoic acid and of N-allyl-N'-2-aminoethylthiourea (A-2-ATU) and IAA on the aggregation and fusion of pea protoplasts were studied. Fusion occurred after 30 min in protoplasts at a density of 104/ml treated with A-2-ATU and in untreated protoplasts. Complete fusion did not occur following the other treatments.
