Effects of Chilling and ABA on [H]Gibberellin A(4) Metabolism in Somatic Embryos of Grape (Vitis vinifera L. x V. rupestris Scheele)

Effects of Chilling and ABA on [H]Gibberellin A(4) Metabolism in Somatic Embryos of Grape (Vitis vinifera L. x V. rupestris Scheele)

Plant Physiology 84(2): 381-385

Somatic grape (cv. Gloryvine) embryos were chilled for 2, 4 or 8 weeks and then incubated with A4 for 48 h at 26 degrees C. Chilling had little effect on the amount of free A-like metabolites formed during incubation but changed the relative proportions of individual metabolites. The amount of highly water-soluble metabolites formed at 26 degrees decreased in embryos chilled for 4 or 8 weeks.
