When clenbuterol was given in 2 experiments with pigs at 1 mg/kg diet for 40 days before slaughter (at about 100-105 kg liveweight) nitrogen deposition was significantly increased by 24 and 7%, weight gain was increased by 10 and 8% and feed conversion efficiency was improved by 9 and 7%.
