Effects of climatic seasonal variations and parity on reproductive efficiency at three commercial pig farms in Puebla State

Data on 5457 farrowings over a period of 18 months at 3 pig units in Mexico were analysed. Season of farrowing had a significant effect on the number of liveborn piglets per litter, litter birth weight, number of piglets weaned and lactation length. Parity had a significance on piglet preweaning mortality and the interval from farrowing to 1st service, in addition to the other traits mentioned above.
