Effects of combined NK application on nutrient balance and yield of rice

In 6 field experiments and 2 pot trials at different sites in Fujian in 1982-85, equal amounts of N and K were absorbed by rice plants. It is recommended that N and K2O should be applied in the ratio 1:0.4-0.5 in the case of K deficiency. Straw:grain ratio increased when N was higher than K, and vice versa. Root DW reached the highest value at 120 p.p.m. N, and decreased at higher N levels.
