Effects of copper on paddy rice and its application techniques



Fujian Agricultural Science and Technology (4): 21-22



Multi-site field trials were undertaken in Sanming, Fujian in 1980-85 to clarify the effectiveness of application of Cu to various paddy soils. The 1980-82 data from 39 sites indicated an av. rice yield increase of 13.9% due to the application of 7.5 kg CuSO4/ha; the increase was 10.1% over 20 sites in 1983-84. Plant height, seeds/panicle and seed-set rate were all higher. The highest yield increase and economic profit were obtained with 18 kg/ha.
