Effects of creep fed induced hypersensitivity on immune response, scouring index, and subsequent performance of weanling pigs

Weanling pigs were creep fed on a 20%-crude protein maize-soyabean meal/whey diet, alone or with 2.7% ovalbumin added as a dietary antigen, or got no creep feed (WC). Litters were offered creep at 10 days old, weaned at 28 days and challenged 21 days after weaning (AW) with 1 ml (intraperitoneal) of ovalbumin (3 mg/ml). In all trials, pigs fed ovalbumin diets had a higher titre to ovalbumin than did other groups at 14 and 21 days old.
