Effects of cropping history on early and late pink bollworm flight in Arizona

Effects of cropping history on early and late pink bollworm flight in Arizona

Journal of Agricultural Entomology 3(3): 227-232

Adults of the gelechiid Pectinophora gossypiella were captured in traps baited with gossyplure in and around cotton fields or in desert areas of other random locations at 4 different localities in Arizona. In spring, the first adults were caught in cotton fields or in fields that had been planted with cotton the previous year. Catches in these traps were about 5 times greater than in those in the desert or in randomly-placed traps.
