Effects of cytokinins on cell arrest in G2 by trigonelline and on the metabolism of nicotinic acid in cultured roots of Pisum sativum and Glycine max

Effects of cytokinins on cell arrest in G2 by trigonelline and on the metabolism of nicotinic acid in cultured roots of Pisum sativum and Glycine max

American Journal of Botany 73(5): 724

This paper was presented at the annual meeting of the Botanical Society of America held at the University of Massachusetts on 10-14 Aug. 1986. Trigonelline (TRG) present in relatively large quantities in dry seeds of many legumes, is transported to enlarging roots during early seedling ontogeny and promotes cell arrest in growth phase 2 (G2) in about 40% of all root cells.
