Effects of dietary concentration of sulphated amino acids on the reproductive performance of broiler breeding hens

1200 broiler breeding hens were fed rations containing 13.5 or 15.5% crude protein and 0.25-0.4% methionine. Increasing methionine concentration in the ration was associated with increasing egg production only for hens on the 13.5%-protein diet. Egg weight was, on average, 1 g greater for hens on the 15.5%-protein diet than for those on the 13.5%-protein diet. Methionine concentration did not affect egg weight at either dietary protein level.
