Effects of dietary protein and voluntary exercise on body composition of rats

Journal of Japanese Society of Nutrition and Food Science 39(4): 289-294

Effects of voluntary exercise on serum lipids, weight and glycogen content of the gastrocnemius muscle and body composition of rats given different kinds of dietary protein were investigated. Exercise training and sedentary rats were given for 5 weeks a diet containing 25% protein, 5% fat and 65% carbohydrate. Protein sources were casein, gluten or soya protein isolate.
