Effects of dietary protein level and fat supplementation on performance and serum parameters of young weaned pigs

Effects of dietary protein level and fat supplementation on performance and serum parameters of young weaned pigs

South Dakota State University 30th Annual Swine Day, January 7, 1988: 52-54

Crossbred pigs were weaned at 3 to 4 weeks old and given 1 of 6 diets: diet 1 contained soyabean meal of 12% crude protein (CP) supplemented with lysine, tryptophan, threonine, isoleucine and methionine to bring its CP content to 18%; diet 2, soyabean meal with 15% CP plus lysine, tryptophan, threonine, isoleucine and methionine to bring its CP content to 18%; diet 3 contained 18% CP plus lysine to 1.15%; diets 4, 5 and 6 were diets 1, 2, 3, respectively, supplemented with 5% fat.
