In pot trials on indica rice Qinglian 16 heading date was delayed, and fertility and 1000-grain wt decreased significantly as N rate increased from 40 to 120 p.p.m. in treatments without B. However, application of 0.8-1.2 p.p.m. B resulted in 1-5 days earlier heading and fertility was 12.2-17.3% higher with 80-120 p.p.m.
