Milk from 20 to 40 mothers was taken from the Paris Milk Bank and pooled in 4-litre batches. Milk was pasteurized by one of the following methods; Oxford Human Milk Pasteurizer (OHMP), CM80 Pasteurizer, Lyon Human Milk Pasteurizer (LHMP), Human Milk Tyndaliser (HMT) or Thonon High-Temperature Short-Time Pasteurizer (HTSTP) at 63 degrees C/30 min, 63 degrees C/30 min, 58 or 65 degrees C/30 min, 65 degrees C/20 min, and 70 degrees C/14-17 s resp.
