Effects of diflubenzuron on three estuarine decapods, Callinectes sp., Palaemonetes pugio and Uca pugilator

Two studies were conducted in artificial pools containing brackish water to determine the chronic nontarget effects on the immature stages of 3 Florida estuarine decapods, Callinectes sp., Palaemonetes pugio and Uca pugilator, of applying diflubenzuron at 0.045 kg a.i./ha to salt marshes in order to control salt-marsh mosquitoes. When the decapods were present in the pools at the time of treatment, mortality ranged from 40 to 60% within 11 days post-treatment.
