Effects of direct perforated plastic covers and of low plastic tunnels on the growth and yield of early white cabbage (Brassica oleracea var. capitata L. cv. alba D.C.)

Effects of direct perforated plastic covers and of low plastic tunnels on the growth and yield of early white cabbage (Brassica oleracea var. capitata L. cv. alba D.C.)

Biuletyn Warzywniczy 29: 97-124

Three cultivars (Ditmarska Najwczesniejsza, Topaz F1 and Agat F1) were grown outdoors under direct perforated plastic covers having 50, 500 or 1000 one-centimeter perforations/msuperscript 2 or under tunnels covered with unperforated or perforated plastic. Tunnels with unperforated plastic were ventilated. The direct plastic cover with 50 perforations/msuperscript 2 provided the best air and soil temperature, RH and soil moisture conditions and frost protection.
