Tubers of 8 varieties were planted in the greenhouse on 19 March and adequately watered until 25 April, at which point they were subjected to drought until 21 May. Tubers were harvested on 16 June. Transpiration, water use, stomatal opening and dry matter (DM) production were measured. In the drought period, Saturna, Alpha and Astarte were the first to wilt due to their high water use, and stomata closed most rapidly in Alpha and most slowly in Prevalent.
