Effects of early childhood intervention on primary school progress in Latin America

This paper reviews evidence of the effects of early childhood intervention programmes on primary school progress and performance among low-income children in Latin America. It commences with a discussion of the underlying logic. Evidence from the USA is then examined and its generalizability to Latin America discussed.
