Effects of environmental factors on duration of dry period in Holstein-Friesian X zebu cows in the district of Sao Carlos, Sao Paulo State



Ars Veterinaria 2(2): 269-276



Data on 1097 cows (the daughters of 50 bulls) were analysed. Length of dry period averaged 111.91+or-64.62 days overall, and 85.47, 84.95, 108.25, 182.60 and 121.22 days resp. for Holstein-Friesians (HF) and for cows with 31/32, 15/16, 7/8 and 1/2 HF inheritance (P<0.05).
