Effects of farming systems on wild bees in the agricultural environment

Effects of farming systems on wild bees in the agricultural environment

Acta Universitatis Nicolai Copernici, Biologia 35: 153-167

An analysis was made of variations in the population structure of Apoidea in farming areas of Koniczynka, near Torun, northern Poland, from 1973 to 1982-83. During this period, traditional farming methods were replaced by a more intensive system, and the total number of species of Apoidea fell to nearly one-third of the original number. The most significant decrease was in species of solitary bees.
