Effects of fatty acids on lipoprotein metabolism in man: perspectives for actions of fish oil fatty acids

Effects of fatty acids on lipoprotein metabolism in man: perspectives for actions of fish oil fatty acids

Health effects of polyunsaturated fatty acids in seafoods: 153-171

The actions of omega -3 fatty acids seem to be very different from those of omega -6 fatty acids (linoleic acid). The omega -3 acids inhibit the production of very-low-density lipoproteins (VLDL), and consequently the production of low-density lipoproteins (LDL), but they have no effect on the clearance of LDL.
