Effects of feed pattern and dissolved oxygen on growth of filamentous bacteria

Effects of feed pattern and dissolved oxygen on growth of filamentous bacteria

Journal Water Pollution Control Federation 58(10): 978-984

Experiments were conducted with 2 parallel aeration tanks with corresponding clarifiers. Filamentous organisms were identified, and total filament length, sludge vol. index, and effluent suspended solids were measured. Lower ratios enhanced Type 0961 growth during dry weather flow. Low dissolved oxygen concn did not affect Type 0961, but did affect growth of Type 1863.
