Berliner und Munchener Tierarztliche Wochenschrift 100(3): 90-95

In 5 dairy herds with poor fertility, 124 cows were fed a ration supplemented with 300 mg of beta -carotene a day over two consecutive winter feeding periods of 3 months and 6 months, respectively. In 5 other herds with similar poor fertility, 117 cows fed an unsupplemented ration served as controls. Oestrus signs were generally better pronounced in the supplemented animals.
