Effects of feeding protected unsaturated fat, growth hormone treatment and feeding level on circulating hormones and receptor concentrations in prepubertal ewe lambs

Effects of feeding protected unsaturated fat, growth hormone treatment and feeding level on circulating hormones and receptor concentrations in prepubertal ewe lambs

Journal of Dairy Science 71(Suppl. 1): 230(P334)

40 ewe lambs were grouped into 4 treatment groups: fed a high-energy diet, ad lib. (A); fed as group A, but treated with bovine somatotropin (GH), 0.1 mg/kg bodyweight/day (G); fed the standard ration in restricted amounts (R); or fed a ration including a protected fat supplement, high in linoleic acid, ad lib. (S). Rations were fed from about 7 to 22 weeks of age. Weekly blood samples were collected a.m. and p.m. during weeks 6 to 14 of the trial. Overall mean concn.
