Effects of feeding silage of a mixture of maize stalks and marrow stem kale to bull calves

For 101 days, 12 bull calves were given daily mixed silage of maize stalk and marrow stem kale, 1 kg hay, and 2 kg concentrate. Control calves got the same ration with whole maize silage instead of kale. Daily gains were 776 and 910 g, respectively. In the second fattening period of 101 days daily gains were 1400 and 1287 g.
