Addition of a viable yeast culture (Yea-Sacc, Alltech Inc.) supplement containing Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Streptococcus faecium and Lactobacillus acidophilus to rations during a 30-day trial on 120 cows increased milk yield by 6% in high-yielding cows, and milk fat content by 19.4 and 14% in high- and low-yielding cows resp. (P<0.01).
