Effects of fibre on the quality of pig diet

Quality in livestock production Proceedings of the Ninth Annual Conference of the Malaysian Society of Animal Production, Universiti Pertanian Malaysia, March 11-12, 1985: 110-116

The effects of fibre on the quality of pig feed in terms of chemical composition, bulk characteristics, particle size distribution, energy content and digestibility were studied. The fibrous ingredients grass meal (GM) and brewers' dried grains (BDG) were used in the study. The geometric mean particle sizes were 310, 5.5 and 769 microns for GM, BDG and control diet, respectively. The digestible energy of GM and BDG was 9.29 and 9.77 MJ/kg, respectively.
