Fluidized bed combustion residue (FBCR), a waste product from the addition of limestone to coal prior to combustion, is high in S and has approx. 50% of the neutralizing capacity of limestone. The effects of repeated applications of FBCR to pastures on forage yield and composition, and on performance and health of grazing cattle were studied. 3 treatments were applied in three 0.81-ha pastures on acidic reclaimed land previously mined by mountain top removal.
