Effects of foliar appliation of chemicals on leaf senescence and grain number and grain weight in hybrid rice

Hybrid rice Shanyou 6 was given foliar sprays of 10 chemicals in addition to conventional application of basal manures and fertilizers, with or without 2.5 kg urea/mu (high-N plots or low-N plots) applied at booting in field trials in Zhejiang in 1985. Spraying P increased fertility by 4.9-6.07% and 4.58%, resp., in high- and low-N plots.
