In a field trial, V. faba Cixi-dabaican and Qingzhudou sprayed with 0.3-0.9% potassium dihydrogen phosphate solution at 50 kg/mu at different stages in 1979-85 gave 4.7-19.7% higher seed yields than the unsprayed control. Sprays at peak flowering, seed filling or budding increased seed yield by 19.3, 12.2 and 7.7%, resp.
