This species shows promise for growing as flowering pot plants as well as for outdoor culture. Pinched seedlings in 15-cm-diameter pots were sprayed on 4 June with daminozide (at 0, 1750, 3500 or 5250 mg/litre), flurprimidol (at 0, 5, 10 or 15 mg), paclobutrazol (at 0, 160, 320 or 480 mg) or XE-1019 (at 0, 20, 40 or 60 mg) and assessed 8 weeks later. XE-1019 is potentially an inhibitor of gibberellin biosynthesis.
