Efficacy of a 1% ivermectin preparation (Iverktin) in controlling ectoparasites and endoparasites in goats

Efficacy of a 1% ivermectin preparation (Iverktin) in controlling ectoparasites and endoparasites in goats

Praxis Veterinaria, Yugoslavia 35(4-6): 121-124

In a large flock, 100 goats and 109 kids were all found to be infected with lice and also with the lungworms Dictyocaulus filaria and Protostrongylus rufescens. A 1% ivermectin preparation was used to treat all of the kids, and 10 of the goats. No lice could be found on these animals 7 days later, and, after 15 days, no parasitic larvae or eggs were found in faecal samples. The remaining 90 goats were treated with Gamacid and though the louse infection was cleared, lungworm infection remained.
