Existence of host races of pigeon-pea cyst nematode, Heterodera cajani Koshy



Nematologica 32(1): 117-119



Juveniles of 2 populations of H. cajani, one from Cajanus cajan and one from Cyamopsis tetragonolobus, penetrated all 7 test plants including C. tetragonolobus. However, further development of the Cajanus cajan population was arrested on both the Cyamopsis tetragonolobus cvs. (HG-75 and FS-277) tested. By the 3rd week, the life cycle was completed on all the plants tested except C. tetragonolobus, where juveniles remained in the 2nd-stage and showed signs of disintegration.
