Experimental reproduction of lymphoid leukosis in calves

Experimental reproduction of lymphoid leukosis in calves

Veterinariya, Moscow, USSR (2): 22-28

Four calves 6-8 months old were inoculated i/v with 2 ml of virus-containing cell culture fluid. Another 4 received 15 ml blood serum from infected cows, and 4 more received 20 ml leukocyte concentrate from infected cows. All calves became positive to the immunodiffusion test (with gp70 antigen) after 2 months. When they were killed 7 months after infection, leukotic lesions were present only in those calves inoculated with leukocytes.
