Factors differentiating employment levels in field vegetable farming. Employment on private farms in Poland

Biuletyn Warzywniczy 29: 333-357

The relationship between the labour requirement and the efficiency of organizational and production factors on private, outdoor vegetable growing farms in Poland is examined. Data were collected from 79 farms in 8 provinces and 28 communes in 1970/71. Characteristic farm features were identified in the sample and 97 of these were classified into 10 groups. Analysis showed that employment levels ranged from 22 to 336 labour units per 100 ha.
