Ferrallitic inheritances in yellow soils from northern Togo. Micromorphology of ferruginous features

Ferrallitic inheritances in yellow soils from northern Togo. Micromorphology of ferruginous features

Soil Micromorphology: 111-118

In northern Togo, yellow soils, "ferrigineux tropicaux" (Plinthudult), are commonly associated with red soils, "ferrallitiques" (Tropudult), lying on Precambrian granitogneissic basement. Relicts of a late Tertiary crusted ferrallitic surface are abundant on this peneplain.Macro and micromorphological descriptions of characteristic horizons are given from two profiles located on the same slope.
