The biology of the aphid Pyrolachnus pyri was observed in Sichuan and Yunnan, China on pear trees at an elevation of 1400-1700 m. Migration occurred in April and immigration in late autumn-early winter. Sexuparae and sexuales occurred in early October, and mated and oviposited 18-30 eggs/female in December. The eggs hatched in late January-early February after overwintering. The fundatrix generation lasted for 40-42 days and the fundatrigenia generation for 30-35 days.
