Genetic analysis of grain yield and some of its attributes in maize (Zea mays L.)

Ten inbreds and their F1s from a diallel cross without reciprocals were studied for yield/plot and 5 yield components at 2 sites, one in the dry season and one in the wet season. Heritability estimates were higher for ear length and 1000-grain weight than for grain yield in both environments. B49 was the best general combiner for yield and some other characters, followed by 382 Syn B.
