Genetic expression of grain protein content, lysine content and SDS sedimentation value in F1 wheat hybrids

Genetic expression of grain protein content, lysine content and SDS sedimentation value in F1 wheat hybrids

Acta Agriculturae Universitatis Pekinensis 12(3): 243-250

In 68 F1 hybrids from crosses between US and Chinese varieties, most had a protein content close to the mid-parental value. Lysine content was close to or below that of the worse parent, indicating partial dominance, dominance or overdominance for low lysine content. SDS sedimentation value of most F1s was close or superior to that of the better parent, indicating partial dominance or overdominance for the trait.
