Genetic structure of sheep populations in some polymorphic blood systems

2160 Askanian sheep (1 population) and 1757 Tsigai sheep (2 populations) were typed for Tf, Hb, arylesterase (AEs) and alkaline phosphatase (Ap). For Tf, the allele of highest frequency was TfA in Askanians and TfD in Tsigais. In the 3 populations, the alleles of highest frequency in the other 3 systems were HbB, AEB and ApC resp. The 2 enzyme systems were not in genetic equilibrium. The percentage of heterozygous loci was 44.6-48.5 in the 3 populations.
