The hsuperscript 2 of litter size and its genetic correlation with birth weight and weights at 3, 6 and 8 wk were estimated from data on 446 Labu strain guineapigs. Litter size ranged from 1 to 7 (average was 2.7+or-0.06), and hsuperscript 2 was 0.65+or-0.27, estimated from paternal half-sib data. Mean body weight at every age to 8 wk decreased as litter size increased.
