Grassland utilization with a view to automation

, : Grassland utilization with a view to automation. Publikatie, Proefstation voor de Rundveehouderij, Schapenhouderij en Paardenhouderij, Netherlands (46): 16-19

Grassland used for intensive continuous grazing was converted to a rotational grazing system in 1985 with the intention of introducing computer-aided grazing management but initially using a wall chart and 2 groups of animals (55 milking cows and 22 heifers grazed separately in 1986). Dry weather in 1986 lengthened the grazing cycle to 30 days in July and Aug. and supplementary feeding was required.
